Lux Mundi is my new non-narrative film project planned for 2010 and dedicated to exploring the beauty of the post-industrial city locations as well as remote nature landscapes of Poland. The idea of the film derives from my passion for the light, night sky, space, wild nature and finally also from my interest in the aesthetics of post-industrial landscape of Polish cities.

The visual language
From the visual standpoint the film will be made on highly aesthetic footage combining primarily time lapse photography with real-time motion. I am planning on contrasting nighttime with daytime and nature with industrial landscape of the city. The shots will be glued together by the mood and common motion be it clouds, stars or foreground.
The music
I haven’t decided on the music yet, but I have already a couple of possible directions in my mind. If you have any suggestions or would like to collaborate, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
The locations
I have already done initial locations planning. I have preselected about a hundred of interesting places in Wrocław, as well as many nature locations in Karkonosze, Sudety and Bieszczady mountains. I have to admit that Google Earth and geotagged images help a lot and save a lot of time in the first phase.
The equipment
I will be shooting on 5D equipped with a self-made 4.5m modular motorized dolly and Meade DS-2000 head for panning shots. I think I’ll make use mainly of wide-angle lenses, but standard primes and tele might also sometimes be of help. I am planning on using:
The rest of equipment is a lot of power, accessories and a Canon TC80N3 Timer Remote Control.
The schedule
I am planning to have my gear completed by April and start shooting seriously starting from April/May. I have also planned about a month of professional break in the summer to focus on the film. I aim to have the film completed by late autumn 2010.
