The hunt for Perseids

Yesterday I tried hunting for Perseids. It is actually 2 days before the maximum of activity. Not much luck. The timelapse was shot from the city suburbs, so the light pollution is quite heavy. However the Milky Way is clearly visible. Not sure if I catch more today or tomorrow as the heavy mass of clouds does not seem be willing to leave.

  1. The only problem with capturing any kind of meteor shower is that timelapse isn't a good way to do it (as I just found out a few days ago). Airplanes look great in it though :)

  2. Thanks for your comment.
I think it is not a bad way. I shoot one frame after another covering 100% of time. If the meteors are visible I have them registered. However there were not many here during the maximum activity. I have some more footage shot the next day and caught some of them on some frames. Now I can stack all the frames together to see all objects on one frame or render to timelapse, but this is not a good way of presenting the stuff as they are visible only on single frames.

  3. I feel your pain, i waited until the maximum activity forsaking clear skies and was greeted with a mass of clouds that didnt lift until two days after the meteor shower, wont make that mistake again
